Today I ventured over to Hyper Japan today to spend lots of money on the wonderful delights that come with the culture. And fun was had! I shall put some of my highlights and a quick review of the convention below...

Marvel/Disney took a risk letting James Gunn bring his own flair and style to a new breed of Marvel heroes to enter the movie universe, and did he do good? Well let's just say in the voice of Rocket Raccoon 'Oh....Yeah'.

 I had a little splurge in Lush recently and decided to finally try one of the handmade colour (which you can use on lips, eyes and hair!) the colour is Drive and it is a very pigmented purple/pink colour with a slight shimmer to it!

So I originally tried to make this into a YouTube video, but my exporting software and mac decided to have a small mental breakdown. And as people actually enjoying reading my blog I thought why the hell not write about this. This blog is mainly for reviews, but why not have a moment now and again huh?

I wanted to speak about my first ever gaming experience and how this turned me into the gamer I am today. Some people like to refer to me as a 'gurl gamer' and this upsets me. I am a gamer, end of. My gender should have nothing to do with it. All gamers, male and female should be classed as a singular unit. If a woman wants to flaunt her body whilst 'playing' games then okay, but that's not me at all.

So when I was around 6-7 I remember my Dad bringing home a PC and a game he had heard 'SO MUCH ABOUT!' and the game was Myst. If you haven't heard of this game then you really haven't lived (and I suggest you log in to Steam or GoG and buy it right now). Myst is a first-person puzzle adventure game through an interactive world, where you could literally click on almost anything and it would reveal some kind of hint into what the purpose of this mysterious deserted island was.


You are given possibly the smallest amount of backstory when you play and just kind of thrown into the game, and f**k me this game was outstandingly hard. There are no goals for you to get to, you literally have to work with what you have and make notes, go back and forth for hours on end until something starts happening. Your character is also a huge mystery and you are just known as the Stranger.

This game was literally family bonding time for me and my Dad, I would get home from school and sit down with my Dad while he played and write down combinations we had found, or any important notes we needed. My Dad is dyslexic so this was also a chance for us both to learn. I also recently re-purchased this game and I struggled so bad (even used a YouTube guide for help, so god knows how me and my Dad completed it!) I absolutely adored these moments with my father and although I spent my fair share of time outside climbing trees and pretending to be witches with my friends, sitting behind the computer for a few hours a week was so much fun...especially when he brought a SNES home. But that's for another day.

I just wanted to write this little piece as recently I've seen girls getting slammed for not being true gamers, and joining a bandwagon by playing CoD in their pants for mens enjoyment. Although this does in fact happen and really makes me feel uncomfortable, it also makes me appreciate how much of a true gamer I am and how I've grown up playing games these girls would never even have heard of.

We are a gaming community and we should appreciate all games for what they provide us.

So as most of you know I read ALOT of books, and recently I went into Waterstones and made a good use of their buy one get one half price sale!

So I recently went into Lush as I've been feeling a bit run down and I don't want the affects of this to show on my face and they recommend me some awesome products. The first was this Breath of Fresh Air toner water.

So people are always asking me what I use every day to hide the sleepy eyes and perfect my brow, here are my every day essential make-up products.



So I do not use this all day everyday, but if I am heading out to work and want to look my best with these high street bargains then this is my daily product selection!

I attended MCM this weekend. I've never been to this convention before so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I'd heard it got busy on the saturday but this was just insane...

I don't normally rate conventions as a whole I normally just make a video/picture highlights, however I was so fucking (excuse my language) during this entire convention that I need to vent my frustration as I'm getting ignored by the MCM staff. I don't normally ignore event coverage from the day but I just feel like I can't let this one go.

So I go to lots of conventions across London and when turning up to MCM with my priority 9am ticket (you pay a little bit extra) I expected them to be letting people through pretty quickly and easy. So we would be in for a few hours before general admission at 11am and actually be able to stand around and look at the products on the stands properly. How wrong I was...I was left to stand out in the pouring rain and didn't actually get inside until 10.45am, despite getting there early and paying for priority tickets. Myself along with other people were fuming that we had paid out so much money to be left outside and not even get in on time, almost 2 hours queuing.

To make it even worse the security staff were absolutely horrible, shouting at people sometimes in even in their faces. Telling people to queue up in one queue and then when they had for half an hour finding out they were sent to the wrong queue. It was a shambles, and the most unorganised event I've ever been too.

I later found out they sold thousands of priority early bird tickets, which makes absolutely no sense. The whole point of priority early bird is so a select amount of people get in early, not over 70% of the people attending.

The layout was shoddy and they bunched all the stands really close together with loads of excess blank space, so when queueing for a stand you were practically in the way of anyone trying to look at the stand next to it. Also if you wanted to go for a quick cigarette, you left out the main doors and then had to queue another 45 minutes to get back into the venue (I don't smoke, but my boyfriend does), so when my boyfriend went out for a cigarette I was left waiting on my own for him for almost an hour with no phone reception.

And to make it worse is that their twitter account is full of angry people tweeting them and they have said that the queuing was due to changes that needed to be made after last years event. However last years event was praised and supposedly much better, when I tweeted and ask if I could complain and get any compensation my tweet was ignored. The ones they did reply to showed absolutely no remorse to the customers whose cosplays were ruined in the rain, and who had a really disappointing impression of the show.
I would say it's not the staffs fault, but they do not seem to care, haven't apologised and I saw Excel staff screaming in people's face.

I know the event is supposed to be busy on a Saturday but this just seemed disorganised, maybe I'll go on the Friday next year and see how it fairs.

However all the companies stands were amazing, they were all super friendly and you kind of forgot about the shitty outdoor atmosphere once you got inside. I had a lot of fun walking around (although I was drenched) and met some awesome cosplayers. Here are some of my favourites from the day;

So I am constantly looking for other vegan friendly bathbombs to use alongside my Lush products, and it's always nice to try something a bit different...isn't it?

I recently purchased three beautiful summery colours from Collection 2000's Work The Colour range. I will now swatch them for you below.  

As most of you know I am a bit of a tattoo fanatic, and recently I wanted to get a character from a film which is my favourite animation of all time.

The body is actually full black, but the shine of the cream says otherwise.

Excuse the redness and shine to the picture, but it's hard to get a decent picture of a tattoo when it's covered in cream! This is now my fifth tattoo, and my first film related one - I would eventually love to cover my leg in Ghibli characters as all the films mean so much to me.

I do not think tattoos have to mean anything as none of my others do I just adore the way they look, however this one means so much to me on a personal level and I am happy with the outcome.

So Disney have recently announced Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Superheroes, and although it was pretty obvious from the teasers it still had us pretty excited and hyped up for the next instalment.

I have spent the past few days playing the beauty that is Child of Light - now I was one of the only people who did not let themselves look too much into the game before playing. I saw one trailer and instantly knew I'd fall in love with it, so I stopped myself from peaking to give myself more of a surprise when the release came round.

I have recently had an obsession with music based games, especially after Final Fantasy Theatrhythm. And when I saw that Dungeon Hearts was another battle based rhythm game I couldn't resist purchasing it!

So as most of you are now aware we are trying to get fitter for the summer, and one of the apps recommended to us to help us on our journey was Zombies, Run!

We have nabbed ourselves a copy of 0RBITALIS* early access on Steam. We have spent the past two days playing this space-based simulation physics puzzler and defying gravity with just one hit!

I have spent my entire weekend playing Lego The Hobbit on PS4, so I thought I would share a review for you all as not any of you will get to play this on a next gen console!

The lovely Emma over at Baboo Crafts has been at it again, this time I asked her to tackle Teddie from Persona 4 (I've been non-stop raving about this game recently). And my oh my did she do a fantastic job, here are some pictures for you all you awe over.

It's me again with another quick review of a game I've played recently and this time is is the beautiful Final Fantasy X HD Remaster.

Please excuse the Drippy in the background, he like to invade! This was probably the only product in the latest Glossybox that I actually considered decent enough to be in there!

So the three of us have decided to try and get fitter for the summer this year! It's going to be a hard one but we are all joining the gym and are going to try and shed our christmas pounds.

So it was my birthday in March and now I want to set myself 25 small goals before I reach the big two five.

1. Try and read at least 50 books (this should be a piece of cake) : 21/50
2. Graduate from university
3. Go on a mini-break or day excursion to somewhere in Europe. 
4. Get out of my overdraft (this will be the most least likely of them all)
5. Go to five events:  7/5 booked already (MCM, EGX, Chromeo, Derren Brown, Distant Worlds, British Summer Time, Blink 182, & Harry Potter Tour)
6. Lose at least 2 stone in weight (6lb down)
7. Write a screenplay for a short film
8. Improve my html skills and make our blog sexy
9. Take more pictures of me and my better half
10. Move out (unlikely)
11. Rebuild friendships which have lost their way over the past year   ✓
12. Upgrade my DSLR/equipment and make a short film
13. Give blood
14. Run 5k (signed up for the 5k race for life on June 15th) We raised almost £500 and I ran it in 33 minutes!
15. Visit euro Disney (possibly in October with the rest of the Glim Glam ladies)
16. Volunteer (signed up for a careers day at an elderly home on 25th April)   ✓
17. Stay up all night and watch the sunrise
18. Watch 365 films (one for each day of the year) 95/365
19. Go to a midnight screening of a movie
20. See the northern lights
21. Visit somewhere in Europe (Amsterdam with my ladies in August) 
22. Go to various places I haven't been before (Kew Gardens, Hadleigh 'Rare Breeds' Farm, Madame Tussauds, London Ice Bar)
23. Make sure I tell my parents/siblings I love them as much as I possibly can
24. Go to the lake district for my 25th birthday
25. Take pictures of all these events and keep them in a scrap book. (Currently uploading to my 2014 dropbox folder)
