You play as runner 5 and do the training programme set to you by your 'coach' along the way unlocking more of the story all based in a safe camp called Abel Township. If you're thinking that you're going to be running like a loon away from zombies, then you will be mistaken. The app has a very subtle approach in how it uses the zombies and motivates you to run without too many scary noises in the background.
I have been using this for three weeks now, running every other day - and I already am feeling much better about my general fitness. I run for around 30 minutes and do 2.5-4 miles, I must admit I haven't lost any weight yet (but I am still binge eating junk at the weekend).
If you link up your app to the zombies run website you can see all of your progress and items collected for your town. As well as this you can build Abel and add various different safehouses etc. I love the online version as I use the GPS so it tracks my pace and when I sped up and slowed down and I noticed that I ran much faster when listening to Daft Punk.
You unlock more of the narrative each day you run and the story has me absolutely gripped. You'll have a coach talking to you whilst your music plays to keep you motivated and at the end of each run you'll find out a bit more of the zombie apocalypse.
This app was kickstarter campaign which has now taken to the internet by storm, especially in the get fit gaming community.
Let me know if you plan on getting this app for motivation! You can pick this up here for a mere £1.49 (for the 5k trainer) and £2.99 (for the main app).
