'Chicken chaser!' Shouts the old hag in Bowerstone, ahh how I've missed the public abuse.

I finally completed Fable Anniversary ( bit late to the party I know ) and it was a joy to play through. I played the first Fable years ago - it was actually the first ever game I had downloaded onto my original Xbox 360. However I never completed it, so as my obsession with Fable 2 and 3 rose the chance to play through the first one again in HD was a no brainer.

The first thing I did was open up my original copy to get a feel for how the cities looked so I could compare when I began playing as my hero...I just couldn't be the bad guy. I was really surprised with how wonderful it looked, it was as if Lionshead had stripped back the game and rebuilt from scratch, I was so impressed. Props to whoever helped design the scenery in this game, I spent a lot of time wandering around looking at my surroundings, HD nostalgia at its finest.

I don't know about others but the game did not feel as blocky to me as the original, it seemed a lot smoother. However the sooner a Fable game is made without loading screens the better!
As usual it had its glitchy moments - I was stuck in a tree for a good minute before realising my entire system had crashed. But what is a Fable game without that, I genuinely feel like the glitchy aspects blend in with the comical tone of the game really well - even if they are a little frustrating...

The voice acting was the same sound clips from the original I can presume, so there was no surprise how good that was going to be. I love the Fable voice acting, from the demon doors right down to kids telling you that you smell! I especially love Jack of Blades in this one.

This was definitely one of the better HD remakes I've played in a long time, and now I'm itching to go back and play the second one all over again!

Overall it's taken me about 20 hours to complete the story, I've collected 22 silver keys and done every side quest. So it's not too long if you had a few days off and wanted to give it a go.

What do the rest if you think of this game?
