After last years mind-blowing E3, what are we looking forward to for this console-less announcements in 2014?
As a 'wish' from all developers I want lots and lots of new IPs. We KNOW there is going to be another CoD, another Batman and probably another Assassin's Creed (after Ubisoft promising that it wouldn't be a 'game-a-year' title when the first one was announced). And to be quite blunt I am fed up of games that get a yearly release, give us something fresh and new. PLEASE.
So I'm hoping we have at least some surprises in store, well at least more than last year! I mean The Order: 1886 and Watch_Dogs were rather impressive surprises, but we've had a bit of a poor start since Watch_Dogs has been released.
But my all time favourite thing would be if Nintendo came onto the stage with some new IPs, however this is very unlikely. I kind of feel bad for Nintendo recently, as much as they have had good press for Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 it doesn't seem to have helped them in any way shape or form. I feel like Nintendo are still living around 5 years behind it's successors and maybe needs a change of pace within it's development and management teams - maybe a younger bunch of people?!
Anywho I think Nintendo need to come out with a fantanbulous new Zelda game for Wii U (preferably without any motion control) and Metroid game on 3DS.
I'm hoping Sony will show of the Morpheus more, maybe a live demo to show the audience what they're made of. What would be even greater is if they showed a live demo of a popular title to show they're going to integrate older successful games, but that's wishful thinking right?
I also would love Sony to announce an official date that Playstation Now will be available for the world to enjoy - I know it's currently in Beta stages (lucky chosen Americans) but I would love to know a bit more information about this product.
We all know how much Sony are going to sit and talk about The Last of Us on PS4, as much as I loved this game I'm kind of sick of hearing about it now!
My wishes of Microsoft are to show they are supporting indie titles more on Xbox One, there has been a few releases but nothing in comparison to the PS4 indie titles. And I'm also hoping they announce more games without the Kinect-less functions, I really couldn't care about the Kinect at all.
As well as this I am hoping that Microsoft announce a VR headset to rival the Sony one, this is probably going to be likely as they won't want to miss out on this market.
And last by not least I want them to tell us more about the new Fable game coming out with a release date!
Overall I think this years E3 is going to be a bit of a let-down due to so many pre E3 announcements, which in fairness is a bit disappointing on the developers part. I love the thrill of not knowing what's coming during this conference, but the past few years have become predictable and boring.
Bring it to the next level!
