I recently decided to try the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipgloss. I wanted to compare it with major high street rivals MUA Velvet Lipgloss and Limecrime Velvetines.

Fandango Purple
Petal

The two colours I decided to try first was Fandango Purple and Petal - two of the prettiest lip colours I've ever used.

Now compared to other matte lip glosses these are by far the nicest I have used, they apply a lot smoother, they are far more pigmented as well as drying much quicker. I found that with previous versions of this kind of matte lipgloss the texture on your lips after it has dried feels quite thick and becomes flaky, whereas this dries ultra smooth and your lips feel like butter. You only need one layer thin layer of the gloss for it to cover your whole lip well, this also means it won't look too thick and packed on.
Also from what I've tried so far it last's when eating and drinking, and is very smudge resistant!

I think these are possibly the best ones on the market, they are a mere £4.99 each from Superdrug. This is just £2 more expensive than the MUA equivalent and £10 cheaper than the Limecrime version - so you're not really paying much for a product of such lovely quality.

I will definitely be picking these up in other colours & I cannot wait to use them, I think Petal may make it into my everyday lipstick routine!

Have you used any of the Sleeks Matte Me lip-glosses?

  1. I haven't used this product, but it sounds really pretty. I hate flakey lip gloss, so this sounds good.
