I had been looking for a headset that was compatible with my PS3, PS4, Vita and PC for a while now and then Sony announced these for £90 I couldn't really say no, they were perfect for what I wanted and they look so sleek and cool.

I am one of the fortunate people in the UK to actually receive the Sony Wireless 2.0 headset, as they do not seem to have much supply and demand about them, but for anyone who was contemplating buying them this is for you!

Specs;
7.1 Virtual Surround Sound (PS3 and PS4 only).
Crystal clear internal microphone.
Present sound modes optimised for games, movies and music.
Foldable design for travel and storage.

So the first thing I did was check out what the sound was like on my Vita (when using a Vita, PC or portable music player you have a jack lead provided) and the sound was solid, however I feel as though the volume max level is slightly too low for people who like a loud atmospheric gaming experience. As I could still hear my boyfriend talking to me over the game.

Then I decided to test out the PS4 - I plugged in the bluetooth dongle into the USB port turned on the headset and they were picked up instantly, I even had a notification come up on screen asking me which of my profiles was going to be using the headset! I decided to test the surround sound out on Resogun, which I feel was a wise choice as the background music, special effects and voiceovers in that game tend to be quite intense. It sounded incredible - especially for virtual surround sound, it was effective, crisp and I really felt as though I was having a 'cinema' sound experience. Again the only downside was possibly that the max volume doesn't seem to go to up to a 'drown out your arguing brothers and sisters' mode.
As well as this when you turn the headset off, it instantly resumes the music on the TV and vice versa if you turn them on mid-way through a game.

The internal microphone scared me at first because it is literally built into the padding on the left ear, so you have no mic in your face. However I did a few test runs and I cannot express how clear the microphone is - I decided to test it out recording a podcast on my Macbook Pro and it picked up no background noise and it was peaking at the right levels. So I'll definitely be using this for voiceovers in the future!
I haven't had a chance to test it out on a livestream yet but I guess that'll be the next step!

So if you're looking for a headset for your next gen PS4 console that you can use also as an everyday device on various other products then I think this is for you - not only that but it's almost £60 cheaper than most good headsets available currently! And it looks awesome.
