11 February 2015

As you're aware by now I game quite a lot - especially once my degree is finished. And I thought I would take a gander at this years BAFTA nominations and take a guess at what I think may win!

Artist Achievement
Far Cry 4
Valiant Hearts
Lumino City
Monument Valley
Assassin's Creed Unity
Hohokum
(I'd go with Valiant Hearts for this one, but personally I would have loved to have Never Alone on here)

Mobile and Handheld
80 Days
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
The Walking Dead: Season 2
Threes
Hitman Go
Monument Valley
(It's got to be Hearthstone surely? I mean who hasn't been addicted to this game at some point in the past year?!)

Audio Achievement
Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
The Sailor's Dream
Mario Kart 8
The Banner Saga
Alien: Isolation
(Alien has music that could make even the most calm situation seem intense, definite winner!)

Multiplayer
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Minecraft: Console Edition
Titanfall
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare
Mario Kart 8
Destiny
(I can see either Destiny or Titanfall walking away with this one, but personally I think Minecraft should take this as I know myself and handfuls of other people who have found Minecraft multiplayer on console to be seamless and tonnes of fun!)

Music
Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved
The Banner Saga
Alien: Isolation
Middle-Earth: Shadows of Mordor
The Sailor's Dream
Far Cry 4
(I don't even want to choose on this one, WHERE IS TRANSISTOR?!)

Best Game
Middle-Earth: Shadows of Mordor
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Alien: Isolation
Monument Valley
Mario Kart 8
Destiny
(Again, where is TRANSISTOR?!)

Original Property
Titanfall
Valiant Hearts
Sunset Overdrive
Monument Valley
Kalimba
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
(I feel like the selection for Original Property could have been much stronger!)

British Game
Lumino City
Forza Horizon 2
Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions
Alien: Isolation
Monument Valley
80 Days
(It's AAA with the most recognition out of all of these games, it'll win)

Performer
Kevin Spacey (COD)
Melissa Hutchison (TWD:S2)
Ashley Johnson (TLOU)
Adam Harrington (TWAU)
Troy Baker (FC4)
Logan Cunningham (Transistor)
(I would love to see this award go to someone like Adam or Logan but Troy as Pagan Min was incredible too)

Debut Game
The Banner Saga
Counterspy
Hitman Go
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Never Alone
Shovel Knight
(I would love to see this go to Never Alone, as this game truly moved me, but I think with the hype around Banner Saga it's going to take the award)

Persistent Game
Eve Online
Destiny
World of Warcraft
World of Tanks
League of Legends
Runescape
(I don't really play MMO's anymore, but LoL seems to be the most used and rounded at the minute)

Family
Little Big Planet 3
Lego Movie
Minecraft: Console Edition
Skylander Trap Team
Mario Kart 8
Twelve A Dozen
(Without a doubt deserves to win due to its playability and ease of use for all family members)

Game Design
Alien: Isolation
Middle-Earth: Shadows of Mordor
Hearthstone
Far Cry 4
Threes
Destiny
(I think this one stands out for it's game design, it looks incredible and feels like the films, what more could you want? )

Story
80 Days
Broken Age
The Last of Us: Left Behind
Never Alone
The Wolf Among Us
(This story is by far one of the most emotional I've played, definitely needs some credit!)

Game Innovation
80 Days
Alien: Isolation
Middle-Earth: Shadows of Mordor
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Titanfall
