Another little indie gem I have had the pleasure of completing recently is Steam World Dig.
I initially bought this on PC but had a real hard time using the mouse and keyboard set up. Luckily for me my PC controller stopped working at around the same time too so I left it until a console release. I went for the PS4 version the day of release and finally sat down with *insert name* to start my adventure. It is a 2D platform mining game where you have to help rebuild a rundown town by using the resources you find. As well as selling your gems to boast various items you possess. You learn more about individual characters and the town the more you progress and you're met with some quirky, and absolutely hilarious characters.
The game itself is about 5 hours long if you are just going to play through the base story. If you are looking to achieve every ingame trophy I would say you'd need about 10. The game is really simple to play and has a rather easy control system. The humour is a bit tongue in cheek but it's totally acceptable for children.
I personally loved this game so much I completed it in one sitting. It has that soothing element you get when playing Minecraft, yet with more mobs and a lot of hidden secret passages throughout.
Credit for these pictures goes to Sony Blog - my PS4 share pictures corrupted. |
I'm really hoping this one comes out for vita because I'd happily play it again on my travels.
You can pick it up here
Let me know what you think if you've played it!
